You can choose to move half a step, or a full step or one and a half steps or even two steps as well. Then, if you desire you can release the string so that you return back to the original note that you had started with.

Palm muting

Palm muting is another popular solo that is used by most solo guitarists. This is the technique which several guitarists use to bring the music to a sudden halt by dampening the strings of their acoustic guitar with the help of the palm of their playing hand.

Sliding

Sliding is one of the important guitar solo techniques used by the professionals. Here you have to fret a note and then slide up or down your guitar’s string to the next note. You can also choose to slide on two guitar strings at a time to create sliding chords.
